Editorial Standards & How We Research
Babbez guides are written by the Babbez team to help parents of children from newborn to age four dress their kids without the guesswork. We aim for calm, honest, genuinely useful guidance — and we tell you what to skip, not just what to buy.
How we research baby sizing
Sizing is our specialty, and it is built on primary research, not guesswork. We read each brand’s own published size chart and compare them side by side across more than 30 brands — because the same label (say “6M” or “2T”) fits differently from one brand to the next. That comparison is what powers our free Baby Clothes Size Finder and our brand-by-brand sizing guides.
One honest limit we always state: the Size Finder gives you sizing information, not a growth prediction. It tells you how a brand’s sizes run against your baby’s current measurements; it cannot forecast how fast your baby will grow.
Our medical and safety policy (the important part)
We are a clothing and parenting-logistics resource. We are not doctors, and we do not give medical, health, developmental, or safe-sleep advice. When a topic touches any of those areas — feeding, sleep, a product’s safety, whether a behavior is typical — we do not give you our own verdict. Instead we relay you to the named authorities who should answer it:
- the American Academy of Pediatrics (HealthyChildren.org) for child health, development, and safe sleep;
- the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for product safety and recalls;
- the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) for pregnancy and birth;
- and always, your own pediatrician or provider for anything specific to your child.
Every guide that touches these areas links our full medical disclaimer.
How we keep guides honest
- We name our sources. Claims that carry weight are attributed to brand-published charts or named authorities, not stated as folklore.
- We don’t fabricate. No invented statistics, no fake reviews, and no made-up author personas — our guides are published under “the Babbez team.”
- We say “skip.” A good guide saves you money and drawer space, so we are just as clear about what not to buy.
- We update. Prices, brand charts, and seasonal guidance change; date-sensitive guides are refreshed while their web address stays the same.
