Size-Chart Transparency Index 2026: Which Baby Brands Publish a Size Chart

We checked 64 baby clothing brands sold in the US for one thing: do they publish a size chart, and what is in it? 56 of 60 brands we could assess publish one, but only 50 of 60 give both weight and height, 9 hide it in an image, and 4 publish none for baby sizes. The brand-by-brand table is below.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
  • A size chart is only useful if it gives weight AND height for every label; 50 of 60 assessed brands do.
  • Image-only charts and parent-company charts are the two ways a chart can exist and still be hard to use.
  • This Index says whether a chart exists and what it contains. It says nothing about fit or quality.
  • Every row is dated; charts change. The brand's current page always wins.

Which baby clothing brands publish a size chart?

One row per brand. "Published" means we loaded a size chart on the brand's own site (text table, product page or image) or on its parent company's site; "No chart found" means the brand's site has no baby size chart; "Blocked" means the site could not be loaded on the retrieval date, so we make no claim about it.

What stands out?

  • 56 of 60 assessed brands publish a size chart somewhere; 51 of 60 on their own site.
  • 50 of 60 give both weight and height. 4 brands give height only (Adidas (infant), H&M (baby), Petit Bateau (US site), Zara (baby)) and 2 give weight only (Kissy Kissy, L'ovedbaby).
  • 9 brands publish the chart only as an image (Dreamland Baby, Goumikids, KicKee Pants, Kyte Baby, Magnetic Me, Monica + Andy, Quincy Mae, Spasilk, Woolino): not searchable, not phone-friendly, not readable by screen readers.
  • 25 brands print both pounds and kilograms; 29 print imperial only; 2 metric only.
  • 4 brands have no chart of their own and rely on a parent company's chart (Little Planet by Carter's, Luvable Friends, OshKosh B'gosh, Touched by Nature).
  • No baby chart found on the brand's own site: Baby Starters, Lands' End (baby), Pact (baby), Rylee + Cru. Could not be loaded (blocked or password wall) on the retrieval date: Honest Baby Clothing, Lark Adventurewear, Mud Pie, Ralph Lauren (baby).

Why does this matter when you buy?

  1. Buy by weight and height, not the age on the label. If a brand gives only one of them, use the other from our baby clothes sizes by age guide as a cross-check.
  2. If a chart is metric only, the size converter translates centimeters and kilograms.
  3. To see how much the same label differs between brands, use the Baby Clothing Size Index 2026, and read why sizes run different by brand.
  4. Shopping our own store: every collection links the sizing hub, and you can browse by age at newborn and baby.
SAVE THIS
  • No weight on the chart? Cross-check with height and the sizes-by-age guide.
  • Image-only chart? Zoom in on the row for your label and screenshot it before you order.
  • Sleepwear is cut snug by design; never use a chart comparison to size sleepwear up.

Methodology and sources

64 brands were checked on 2026-09-02 (2 more, Columbia (infant), Uniqlo (baby), are held out until a second independent load confirms their charts). For each brand we loaded the brand's own size chart page, product-page size guide or chart image and recorded: whether a chart exists, whether it gives weight, whether it gives height or length, whether head circumference or chest is given for any size up to 24M (assessed only for the brands added in this crawl), the unit system, and where the chart lives. Retailer charts (department stores, marketplaces) are not counted as the brand's own; a brand sold only through its owner's marketplace listing is counted as an own-site product page. Parent-company charts count as published but are flagged. Sites that returned a bot wall, a password page or a placeholder on the retrieval date are marked Blocked and excluded from every percentage. We did not handle or test any garment; this is a record of published information, not a claim about fit or quality. All counts use the 60 assessed brands as the base.

Sizing information only; not medical or growth advice. Read our disclaimer.

Frequently asked questions

How many baby clothing brands publish a size chart?

Of the 60 brands we could assess, 56 of 60 publish a size chart, 9 of them only as an image, and 4 only on a parent company's site. 4 brands publish none for baby sizes and 4 sites could not be loaded on the retrieval date.

What should a baby size chart include?

Weight and height (length) for every label, in both pounds and kilograms. In this Index 50 of 60 assessed brands give both weight and height; 4 give height only and 2 weight only; 25 print both unit systems.

Why do some brands publish height only?

Brands that size by centimeters (a European convention) print the child's height range per size and no weight; H&M and Zara follow that grid in the US too. Weight is the number most parents actually know, so we flag height-only charts.

Does an image-only size chart count as published?

Yes, we count it as published, but we flag it: an image cannot be searched, resized for a phone or read by a screen reader, and it is easy to miss on a product page. A text table on a dedicated page is the standard we would like every brand to meet.

Does this Index say which brands cover heavier or lighter babies?

No, it does not. It records whether a chart exists and what it contains. To compare the ranges themselves, see the Baby Clothing Size Index 2026, which compares the same label across 30 brands' published charts.
